The IT health check of your company

How is your company's IT really doing? Backup, PC protection, access, network, servers and deadlines, scored with precise technical criteria, not by feel. At the end you know where you are solid, where you are exposed, and where to start.

There are questions because this is a real assessment, not a quiz. You do not need to be technical, or to know everything: answer with what you know. Every technical question has “I don’t know”, and if a topic does not apply to your company choose “This doesn’t apply to us”. Brands and quantities for antivirus, servers, NAS and firewalls are optional: add them only if you know them.

  • A score for every areaBackup, PCs, access, email, network, people and infrastructure, from 0 to 100, with the risks in order of severity.
  • The map of your ITPCs, servers, virtualisation, NAS, firewalls and protection, set out in order, with quantities and versions.
  • The deadlines that apply to youWindows, Windows Server, VMware and Office: what is already out of support, and what expires in the coming months.
  • A three-step planWhat to do now, within three months and within a year. With an estimate of what one day of downtime would cost.

You can stop and come back whenever you want. The answers stay on this device until you ask for the full report.

Built on 25 years of work in the field

These are the questions we ask every time we walk into a new company. We put them in order so you can ask them yourself, at your own pace. Then, if you want, we look at the rest together.

The health check is based on your answers and on public data for the email domain. It is not an audit or a penetration test: it shows where to look first.

What PCDUE’s IT health check is

It is a free IT health check of a company’s IT: 43 guided questions that, in about twelve minutes, assess backup, PC protection, access, email, network, procedures and the deadlines of systems and software. At the end you get a score for each area, the risks in order of severity, the map of your IT, the schedule and a three-step plan.

What it assesses

Seven areas, each scored from 0 to 100: backup and restore; PC protection; access and passwords; email and data; network and firewall; people and procedures; infrastructure and deadlines.

How we calculate the score

Each answer is worth 0 to 4 points, on fixed criteria. An area’s score is the percentage of points earned. The overall score is the weighted average of the areas: backup 22, access 18, PCs 16, network 12, infrastructure 12, email 10, people 10. Bands: 0–39 critical, 40–59 needs work, 60–79 fair, 80–100 good. “I don’t know” counts as something to verify; questions that do not apply to you leave the calculation.

Questions about the free IT health check

What is PCDUE’s IT health check?

It is a free IT health check of your company’s IT. Answer 43 questions and you get a score for each area, the main risks, the map of your IT, the product deadlines and a three-step plan.

Is it really free?

Yes. You see the score straight away. The full report unlocks when you leave a contact, and if you want you can book a free 45-minute call with a PCDUE technician to go through it.

How long does it take?

About twelve minutes. You can stop and come back whenever you want: the answers stay saved in your browser.

Do I need to be technical to answer?

No. Answer with what you know. Every technical question has “I don’t know”, and if a topic does not apply to your company there is “This doesn’t apply to us”. Brands and quantities are optional.

What do you check on the email domain?

Public data only: who handles the email, and the SPF, DMARC and DKIM records, which protect against fake emails sent in your name. We do not scan the website or the servers.

Is it a security audit?

No. It is based on the answers given and it shows where to act first. A full review needs a check of the systems, like the real map.

What is the real map?

It is the map of your IT built by PCDUE on site, with automatic discovery of devices and PCs and a visit: network diagram, inventory, licences, warranties and deadlines, all checked. It is included with a PCDUE support contract, or it can be done on its own.

What happens to my data?

Until you ask for the report, the answers stay in your browser. When you ask for it, they reach PCDUE only so we can contact you and prepare the call. We do not pass them on to anyone.

Are Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 still safe?

Windows 10 has not received free security updates since 14 October 2025. Windows Server 2016 leaves support on 12 January 2027. The health check tells you which of your company’s products are already out of support and which expire soon.
